500-level Pharmacy student abandons school in Nigeria, relocates to Canada

A Nigerian 500-level Pharmacy student has captured attention online after abandoning her studies and relocating to Canada, sparking conversations about education, migration, and opportunity among young people.

The student, identified on TikTok as @Benose, revealed that she left Nigeria during her first semester of 500-level. In her viral post, she reflected on the surprising turn of events:

“If someone told me I won’t get to 600L in pharmacy school, I would have laughed and called them crazy. But as God would have it, I left. Moved abroad in my 500L first semester. It’s been a crazy ride and I’m ready to share my journey with you guys.”

Her message resonated with many, as she emphasized optimism about her future, saying she believes the next chapter will be “bright and beautiful.”

The student documented her journey through TikTok videos, showing snippets of her life in Nigeria and her transition to Canada. While she did not disclose the exact reasons for leaving, her move reflects a growing trend of Nigerian students seeking opportunities abroad, often before completing their degrees.

Her decision has sparked divided opinions with supporters praised her courage, saying it’s better to seize opportunities abroad than remain uncertain at home while critics argued she should have completed her degree first, noting that a professional qualification could have made her relocation smoother.
