Burna Boy Pledges to Cover Funeral Costs for Children Killed in California Mass Shooting

Nigerian Grammy-winning artist Burna Boy has pledged to cover the funeral expenses for the four children tragically killed in the recent mass shooting in Stockton, California.

The shooting occurred on Saturday, November 29, 2025, during a children’s birthday party at a banquet hall in Stockton. The attack left four young victims dead and 11 others wounded, sending shockwaves through the community.

Burna Boy, moved after hearing about the tragedy on The Breakfast Club radio show, reached out through music executive Wack 100 and Hollywood Unlocked’s Jason Lee to offer immediate assistance to the grieving families.

In his statement, Burna Boy said: “When I heard about the children murdered in Stockton, my heart broke. No family should ever face this kind of pain alone. I wanted to do whatever I could to support these parents as they begin the long process of healing.”

Among the victims was 14-year-old Amari Peterson, a promising student-athlete with a 3.8 GPA whose future was cut short. Other victims included an 8-year-old girl and a 21-year-old man. Local leaders praised Burna Boy’s gesture, describing it as a powerful example of global solidarity.
